Sustainably made from the fleeces of our heritage Shetland sheep and milled locally in Michigan, these wool pellets are a zero-waste solution for healthier soil and stronger plants. A natural slow-release fertilizer and soil conditioner in one, our wool pellets are packed with nutrients that plants love.
Nutrient Profile (approx.)
Wool pellets are rich in nitrogen and potassium, making them ideal for balanced plant growth:
Nitrogen (N): ~9% (can range up to 11%)
Phosphorus (P): ~0–1%
Potassium (K): ~2–5%
Also contains: Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur, and trace micronutrients (Iron, Manganese, Zinc, Copper, Boron)
This high-nitrogen, low-phosphorus blend supports leafy growth and root strength without risking phosphorus buildup in soil.
How to Use
Bellwether Wool Pellets can be used in garden beds, containers, and even compost piles to enrich and condition the soil naturally.
Garden Beds: Mix in ¼ to ½ cup per square foot of soil at planting time. For heavy feeders (like tomatoes or squash), use up to ¾ cup.
Containers: Blend 1–2 tablespoons per gallon of soil when potting up. For larger planters or heavy-feeding potted plants, top-dress monthly.
Pest Control: Sprinkle a barrier ring around the base of plants to deter slugs, snails, and voles. The coarse texture and natural scent act as a gentle deterrent.
