Stewarding the Soil & Land: My Growing Practices

Growing food and plants is more than a practice—it's a passion rooted in years of learning, hands-on experience, and a deep respect for the land. With a degree in horticulture and a lifelong love for farming, I have dedicated myself to cultivating plants in a way that nourishes both people and the soil.

At Bellwether Farms, I embrace organic, regenerative, and biodynamic growing methods to create a thriving ecosystem. My approach goes beyond simply avoiding synthetic chemicals—it's about working in harmony with nature. Regenerative farming focuses on building soil health, increasing biodiversity, and ensuring long-term sustainability, while my recent deep dive into biodynamic principles adds another layer of holistic care to my practices.

One unique aspect of my growing system is the use of FertiPots, biodegradable containers that reduce plastic waste and allow for strong root development. I also mix my own soil blend, incorporating wool pellets—a natural amendment that improves moisture retention, aeration, and soil fertility. These sustainable choices align with my goal of growing vibrant, nutrient-dense plants while being a good steward of the land.

Every seed I plant is a commitment to healthier soil, stronger plants, and a more resilient food system. I’m honored to share the fruits of this labor with my community, knowing that every plant and harvest reflects my dedication to sustainable, mindful growing.
